Stainless steel tubing is being used in greater quantities than ever before and the demand for high quality, fully annealed tubing with a bright surface finish is increasing.
To meet this demand, Inductoheat has developed a bright annealing system which delivers tube from the end of the production line requiring no further surface finishing only resizing and cut to length. This annealer is designed to operate in line with the tube manufacturing mill. It is not suitable for off line use.
The Inductoheat bright annealing system can be complimented with additional equipment such as cleaning prior to anneal and direct water quench immediately upon exit from the annealer atmosphere cooling chamber and before the sizing rolls.The direct water quench is essential to maintain uniformity of product size.
Power supply incorporating the latest in solid state IGBT inverter technology or thyrister technology for the larger systems.
A heating inductor designed to maxmise heating efficiency. It includes a gas tight liner to contain the controlled atmosphere gas and ensures no contamination from the outside environment. This design allows the hydrogen gas to reduce surface oxides and maintains the bright finish.
A dwell zone designed to the correct length to match the line speed and ensure correct annealed grain structure.
A quench chamber is fully sealed to the heating coil liner and water cooled on the external surface, whilst on the interior, high conductivity blocks draw the heat from the stainless steel tube and conduct it rapidly to the exterior water cooled surface. The whole of the quench being under controlled atmosphere gas to maintain the bright finish down to the exit temperature. The quench length is kept to a minimum on high speed lines running heavy wall tube by use of a design which increases the rate of thermal conduction to the cooling water.
A support framework and covers allow single point adjustment of the pass line height to suit the mill. This frame is independent of the heating and quench system which is mounted on it.
